[p]Connections Community wants to give members the opportunity to help make a difference. We are inspired by the work that Whizz-Kidz do in enabling disabled children and young people to lead fun, active and independent lives. Whizz-Kidz provides vital mobility equipment, opportunities to meet and have fun, and training to help gain skills for a brighter future.[/p][p]Working in the travel industry, we understand the importance of being able to explore the world around you. Support from Whizz-Kidz gives young disabled people across the UK the independence and freedom they deserve, giving them the opportunity to experience things they weren't able to before. Just like it did for Jessie, aged 10, from Calderdale in West Yorkshire:[/p][p]"The power wheelchair helps with Jessie's independence because it has a riser which means she can change the height of her seat when she needs to... The riser means she can do those things for herself. When we go out as a family in the countryside she often uses her riser to peek over walls and look at horses. She can explore the world and satisfy her curiosity. It’s those small things that make a huge difference." - Jessie's Mum[/p][p]For our luxury buyers, instead of a joining fee, are asked to kindly donate a minimum of €200. Our suppliers are also encouraged to donate. Please donate whatever you can by using the red 'Donate' button above. All donations will be quickly passed from Virgin Money Giving to Whizz-Kidz for them to start putting your money to work straight away. Your kind donations will help transform the lives of disabled children and young people across the UK, like McKenzie, supporting them to become confident and independent young adults.[/p][p]You can learn more about the work Whizz-Kidz does, or how you can get involved, by visiting whizz-kidz.org.uk.
