[p]For those who don't know the background to my challenge and the reason why I am doing this challenge is two-fold. [/p][p]Firstly some of you will know that I have been on a fitness and mental health and well-being journey over the last 12-14 months, which all spurred from when I managed to compress 4 vertebrae in my spine back in October 2018 where I couldn't feel my legs for 6 weeks, it was a massive reality check and it really shook me up! ... Luckily having had spinal reconstructive surgery that December and being bed-bound for 6 weeks, made me realise how important it is, to keep a strong body and that it shouldn't be taken for granted. [/p][p]This led to some very dark clouds hovering over my head, and the only way I could find that helped to blow away those dark clouds, was to be back to near full-time physical training like I was when I was a Swimmer, it was the one thing that gave me purpose, joy, and satisfaction. So I have replaced water for weights and swimming trunks and goggles for running shorts and a sweatband, but what remains the same is that I wanted to train 6 days a week like I used to. Now 11 months later, those clouds are now starting to fade away.[/p][p]Secondly, the Covid-19 Pandemic has been a challenge for all and will be even more impactful, for those within the charities sector. Many smaller charities like SportsAble will have an uphill battle to resume and keep the flame lit in providing wonderful opportunities to the community, which doesn't have such access. I have personally benefited so much from SportsAble over the last 19 years (My GOD! ... I've been a member for that long!), so I thought it was both my moral and social responsibility to play my part in keeping things moving. I hope your donation will equate to the physical endurance, some will say punishment, and all will say lunacy that I will put my body through for 81 minutes in aid of SportsAble tomorrow.[/p]
