My story

[p]Thank you for taking the time to visit my page.[/p][p][br][/p][p]This week I had the incredible news that I have been registered in the 2018 London Marathon, running to raise money for Grief Encounter. [/p][p][br][/p][p]A daunting prospect indeed...how many miles???[/p][p][br][/p][p]Last year I completed my first half marathon and vowed never to go running again...but when the opportunity came up to run this iconic race to raise money for such a wonderful charity, I could not refuse. [/p][p][br][/p][p]When my sister-in-law, Natalie Cook, passed away, the pain and devastation it caused our families was immeasurable. Nats suffered an amniotic fluid embolism, which is a rare child birth emergency. [/p][p][br][/p][p]Nats’ beautiful daughter, Chloe, survived but Nats also left behind her son Zac, loving husband Tim and family and friends. [/p][p][br][/p][p]Processing this grief and trying to articulate my emotions has been particularly difficult for me and still is. Heaven knows what it must be like for a child - it is unimaginable. [/p][p][br][/p][p]I know that for my brother, Tim, and his wonderful children, Grief Encounter’s support has been invaluable.[/p][p][br][/p][p]Every training run I complete, no matter how cold, wet or miserable will not only be for Grief Encounter, but will also be For Nats x You would be so proud of them both. They are wonderful x [/p][p][br][/p][p]Grief Encounter is a child bereavement charity that provides information, advice and support to bereaved children, young people and their families. They are dedicated to helping bereaved youngsters deal with the loss of a parent or sibling and seek to raise public understanding of the emotional distress young people experience following the loss of a loved one.[/p][p][br][/p][p]They can change a child’s life.[/p]
