My story

[p]Every year, Darlington Hippodrome adopts one Charity of the Year to fundraise for alongside our ongoing charity, St Teresa’s Hospice. This year, our chosen charity is Darlington Samaritans. We are living in an uncertain age, and under increased pressure Darlington Samaritans are providing vital support in our local area. Please help us to help them.[/p][p]Whatever you’re facing, a Samaritan will face it with you.[/p][p]Every six seconds, Samaritans answer a call for help. We’re here, day or night, for anyone who’s struggling to cope, who needs someone to listen without judgement or pressure. Samaritans is not only for the moment of crisis, we’re taking action to prevent the crisis.[/p][p]We give people ways to cope and the skills to be there for others. And we encourage, promote and celebrate those moments of connection between people that can save lives. We offer listening and support to people and communities in times of need.[/p][p]Samaritans are working with people who are going through a difficult time and training others to do the same. Every life lost to suicide is a tragedy, and Samaritans’ vision is that fewer people die by suicide.[/p][p]That’s why we work tirelessly to reach more people and make suicide prevention a priority.[/p][p]Corona Virus - how Samaritans can help[/p][p]https://www.samaritans.org/how-we-can-help/support-and-information/if-youre-having-difficult-time/if-youre-worried-about-your-mental-health-during-coronavirus-outbreak/[/p]
