My story

[p]When I filled in the application form (seemed like such a great idea at the time!!!), I wrote 2 reasons for doing this:[/p][p]"Personal challenge and Community" - I still think that sums up what you will be supporting. Please donate what you can in support of both and I will expand more below if you have the time to read it![/p][p]Personal challenge: lets just say that I have a crystal clear childhood memory of jumping up to dance at a family "disco" to Greased Lightening, aged about 12, to strut my John Travolta stuff only to feel totally deflated as some on-looking adults started laughing - so yes, a ballroom dancing competition in front of 300+, with media access to 5000 Royal Cornwall Hospital (RCH) staff and the people of Cornwall beyond, is going to be a personal challenge![/p][p]Community: I meant so much with this one word. [/p][p] Firstly, we are fundraising for the "ENT Service". Money raised will fund equipment that will increase the quality of care and improve "access" to care for ENT conditions such as Head and Neck cancer diagnosis and surveillance, chronic ear disease and paediatric outpatient experience. That's the wider Cornish community.[/p][p] Secondly, I have already been amazed by the support I have received from the ENT and wider RCH community (both staff and patients). Involvement in a project like this brings us together.[/p][p] Thirdly, by taking on this challenge I will, personally, experience that community, be part of it; that can only be enriching......and I am, hopefully, a bit more resilient to the amusement it all may cause![/p][p]Thank you so much for visiting the site and giving generously![/p][p][br][/p][p]This video is of me describing what we might be able to use your generous donations on:[/p][vmgvideo class="ql-video" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="true" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/vYPHbd-f2ZA?showinfo=0&rel=0&iv_load_policy=3"][/vmgvideo][p][br][/p]
