My story

[p]Hi, thanks for visiting my page. [lt]br /[gt][lt]br /[gt]Ok, first thing is I am not a runner. I was one of the kids who used to hide in the bush when we did long distance at school.[lt]br /[gt][lt]br /[gt]Everyone who knows looks at me in disbelief when I say I have a place in the London Marathon. So why enter? I entered as I was inspired following being a spectator to the London Marathon in 2011 & a friend encouraged me to enter via twitter on the morning of the ballot BUT I didn't really think I would actually get a place.[lt]br /[gt][lt]br /[gt]Now I have a place and it's a huge challenge, both mentally and physically. I always said if I got a place via the ballot I would run for charity. Not only to motivate me but to make a direct different to a project that benefits the environment, children and animals.[lt]br /[gt][lt]br /[gt]So I am running for the charity React.[lt]br /[gt][lt]br /[gt]There are two specific projects which the money raised will go directly towards...[lt]br /[gt][lt]br /[gt]Project 1[lt]br /[gt][lt]br /[gt]Tree planting session to create a migration corridor for endangered species, the tree planting will be done by local children who work in the palm oil plantations in Borneo. This help replenish the forest but also educated the local future generation as to why doing this is important.[lt]br /[gt][lt]br /[gt]Depending on how much I raise, we could also help maintain the planted area, for example £1000 covers maintenance for 2 years which is essential otherwise the trees get smothered and soon die[lt]br /[gt][lt]br /[gt]Project 2[lt]br /[gt][lt]br /[gt]Money to help orangutan & sun bears whilst they are being cared for during their rehab, with the end goal to get them back to their natural habitat.[lt]br /[gt][lt]br /[gt]I REALLY appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p]
