My story

[p]Hi, thanks for visiting my page. Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p][p]Great Grandad (Dick Venables) will attempt the 200 mile bike ride from Stafford to St.Davids using actual and off route mileage, aiming to finish at St.Davids, accompanied by a posse of family and friends, on Saturday June 25th.[/p][p] *See up to date photos of my training & progress throughout the bike ride below*[/p][p]In loving memory of Grandma Caty Venables, who worked hard over sixty years to bring so much comfort and happiness into our lives.[/p][lt]div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 0px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow: hidden;"[gt]Grandma Caty and I were married in August 1954, in the Hague in Holland, the town where she was born. As a child she had known the difficulties of the war years and the German occupation and as a teenager she suffered the loss of her father and then her mother. I know that as our children and then grandchildren and then great grandchildren arrived, although she seldom spoke of it, it was a sadness in her life that she was never able to share the happiness and heartaches of our family life with her own mum and dad. I think this made her all the more determined to create a happy and secure home for our own growing family. We celebrated sixty years of marriage shortly before her final illness became apparent. [lt]/div[gt] [lt]div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 0px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow: hidden;"[gt]In loving memory of Grandma Caty Venables, who worked hard over sixty years to bring so much happiness into our lives.[lt]/div[gt]Grandma Caty and I were married in August 1954, in the Hague in Holland, the town where she was born. This shelter provides care and support for girls from poor and marginalised communities in the southern indian state of Telangana who are most vunerable to being forced into ritual sex slavery. They are only given places in the shelter with the full agreement of their mother. Through the shelter, girls are able to recieve basic healthcare, quality eductation, emotional support, counselling, nutritious diet and to experience a loving caring environment.[/p]
