My story

[p]Hi, thanks for visiting my page. Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p][p]Last year I ran my first ever marathon, thanks wholly to www.action.org.uk, they helped me fulfill a life long dream.[/p][p]Please visit their website as my words will not do their incredible research justice.[/p][p]I began last years journey in October, starting off as a 36yr old couch potato, I weighed 18 stone / 252 lbs for my American friends and could not run for longer than 3mins.[/p][p]After 6 months of hard training but poor diet I had dropped 35 lbs and was ready to beat my goal of 4hrs........deluded![/p][p]I cruised to 10 miles which is where it all started to go so very wrong, my legs began hurting, just an insane pain but unless my legs fell off, nothing was stopping me.[/p][p]I passed half way in 2hrs 1min 49secs but had to run/walk the last 13.1 miles and was relieved to have at least beat 5hrs, finishing in 4hrs 58mins 42secs.[/p][p]That was the fastest 5hrs of my life and I loved every second of it, even if the pictures say otherwise.[/p][p]Due to some incredible support (financial), Action have given me another golden bond place in next years Virgin Money London Marathon, I am just so excited to be part of it again.[/p][p]This years journey is thankfully longer, 11 months to get things right.[/p][p]I start off at 16st 5lbs / 229lbs, still 36, for a few months at least.[/p][p]I will be posting updates at www.facebook.com/groups/77544059181483[/p][p]Please donate what you can, a £ a week will add up and will be hugely appreciated. [/p][p]WOW! just 7 days to go now. [/p][p]Training has been inturupted by multiple illnesses but went well while I could.[/p][p]Im am below 15st and hope to remain there for the start.[/p][p]I have hit many pbs in the recent months and have high hopes of finishing in less than 4 hrs but I do know how hard that will be.[/p][p]Thank you again for you support, it means so much to me and Action.[/p]
