My story

[p]Having run a half marathon last year for Horatio's Garden i am now going to go one better. On the 3rd of October I will be running the London Marathon to raise money for this amazing charity. This will be a massive challenge to myself and I hope that it will convince you to donate if you are able. (Not least for the fact it will delay my birthday celebrations!)[/p][p]Horatio Chapple was an Etonian who volunteered at the Duke of Cornwall Spinal Treatment Centre, Salisbury, in his school holidays. Along with his father he came up with the idea for a garden to aid the hearts, minds and recovery of the patients of the centre. [/p][p]Tragically, Horatio was killed aged 17 by a polar bear whilst on a school trip. Now Horatio's Garden looks to continue his work. [/p][p]The charity now has 5 gardens across the country and they are working on Horatio's Garden Cardiff. Spinal injuries are life-changing events which often leave patients with little or no access to the outside world whilst they are in hospital. However, research shows that increased access to nature and green spaces contributes to increased wellbeing, which in turn can have a positive impact on rehabilitation. Horatio's Garden aims to provide this.[/p][p]This is a cause very close to home and extremely worthwhile, I hope you feel the same and donate as you are able.[/p][p]Much Love, Ed x[/p]

I think of marathons much like a narco agreement. Some money now as an incentive and the rest on completion based on the quality of the job. You only have to hold up your end. Good luck
