My story

[p]Hiya! If you are reading this you have probably clicked on a link sent by me or someone I know. Thank you for coming this far. Whatever anyone else has said to you there is no obligation for you to donate to this cause. [/p][p]It is a cause I care deeply about, after all I do work for the organisation and I will have a say in how the money raised is used. I feel it incumbent upon me to declare now that the money will not be used to give me or any of my colleagues a bonus, sorry folks! My hope is that we can use this money to further the recovery (from alcohol/drugs/mental health) movement in South Lanarkshire; where the service I work with is based. Indeed, we will consult with people who use the service in relation to how the funds raised are spent.[/p][p]My care for this organisation goes deeper than a professional level. I have personally felt the impact that reverberates through families when someone we love experiences challenges with alcohol, drugs or ill mental health. This is not a poor me story, my family is not unique. There is not a family in Scotland, England, Wales, N Ireland that is not impacted by either alcohol/drug misuse, a drug death(sadly on the rise) or the challenges people face when they experience poor mental health.[/p][p]So I have made the bold(daft) move to run/walk/crawl the London marathon on April the 22nd 2018 on behalf of Addaction. Do not tell my twelve year old self; he will be raging. If you would like to donate any money to this cause then it will be very gratefully received by myself, the team at Addaction and the people that it will go on to support. If you have any messages of encouragement, positive energy to send or any top tips these will be warmly received also. If you have got this far through me rambling and wish to run away(see what I done) then that is all good. [/p][p]Whatever you decide to do I wish you well for today tomorrow and the future.[/p][p][br][/p][p]Take care[/p][p]Eddie[/p]
