Trek to China for Essex & Herts Air Ambulance

[p]Via Attwaters Jameson Hill, I am participating in the organised event to walk The Great Wall of China, in October 2019, in an effort to raise funds and awareness for this worthy charity and I cannot meet my fundraising goal without the help of people like you. [/p][p]Essex & Herts Air Ambulance is also Attwaters Jameson Hill chosen charity of the year.[/p][p]Essex & Herts Air Ambulance provide life saving care to members of the public throughout Essex & Hertfordshire. Their website is detailed below for ease of reference but essentially they provide urgent medical care and assistance to the public within the ‘golden hour’ after an incident having taken place. They work without access to National Lottery funding and with limited support from Government. They also have to pay for all medication and medical tools and fuel and the helicopters themselves. They continue to rely upon the generosity and goodwill of the people and businesses of Essex and Hertfordshire to remain operational and keep saving lives.[/p][p]Did you know; [/p][p][i]£2 is the cost of a scalpel which could be used for emergency surgical procedures[/i][/p][p][i]£8 is the cost of a blood pressure cuff to monitor the status of a patient[/i][/p][p][i]£24 is the cost of a sling to stabilise a patient’s pelvis and reduce bleeding.[/i][/p][p][i]£60 is the cost of a splint to provide traction to broken long bones.[/i][/p][p][i]£100 is the cost of one vial of Beriplex to reduce bleeding in trauma patients on Warfarin.
