My story
[p]Dear supporters,[/p][p]As you may have seen, earlier this year I took part in the "V Anantapur Ultramarathon" in Anantapur, India. I had the honour of joining 250 other runners in aid of the "Vicente Ferrer Foundation". My next challenge will be the "London Marathon – The 40th Race" in aid of "Children Change Colombia" on the 4th of October.[/p][p]Children Change Colombia is the largest UK charity working exclusively in Colombia. The charity works with children and their families to overcome poverty, inequality, discrimination and violence. Despite a growing economy and a peace deal with the country's largest guerilla group, millions of Colombian children still face poverty, violence and exclusion from the opportunities presented by a changing society.[/p][p]So whether they are threatened by forced displacement, sexual exploitation or recruitment into armed groups, denied education, a loving family or a place to play, this fantastic charity works to ensure that as many children claim their right to a safe and happy childhood and a fulfilling future. [/p][p]Children Change Colombia believes that children can transform their own lives, with a knowledge of their rights and the confidence to assert them, and in turn their communities and Colombia itself.[/p][p]Taking part in a marathon is a gruelling challenge, therefore I'm calling on your generosity in order to support the efforts of this incredible charity. I'll be doing my best to reach the 42 kilometre finish line in the shortest time possible! [/p][p]Many thanks in advance for your donations and for relaying this message in your social networks, by using the hashtag #ChildrenChangeColombia and #LondonMarathon.[/p][p]Wish me luck, I'll need it! [/p][p]Love, [/p][p]Eliseo[/p]
Well done Eliseo! Our son lives in Colombia. I nearly competed myself, did 21.2 miles on a practice day, but due to not being 100% well and of an older age group I had to forgo. Disappointed, but glad to sponsor you!
