My story

[p]Hi, thanks for visiting my page. Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to Teenage Cancer Trust. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations. The training is done, taper madness is gripping me - the last 20 mile run is complete. My hip injury is almost gone, I am hungry all the time and over 400 miles have been run in training since January![/p][p]Although I run a lot, indeed some would say I am obsessed, I have never tackled a marathon - indeed I am on record as saying I would never do one (give me a fast 5k any day). However, when the opportunity to run in London this year for the Teenage Cancer Trust came up I was persuaded to deputise for my boss, Kath Russell (no I don't know where that bit of my contract is either). I had become aware of the wonderful work that TCT does through an inspiring young man, Callum Ballantine, Kath's godson. Callum tragically died at the age of 19 as a result of cancer. Through his fashion line, Made in Manchester, thousands of pounds have been raised. Manchester is my adopted home city - I have pounded its streets as a runner many times. If I am going to put myself through the pain of training for a marathon, never mind the race itself, I cannot think of a better cause.[/p][p]I am proud to be running in honour of a lovely young man, please take a moment to visit https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/TeamCal/1 to read more.[/p]
