My story

[p]Four years ago my darling mam suffered a Subarachnoid Haemorrhage - a bleed on the brain - of the same family as a Stroke. [/p][p]She was in hospital, in a coma, intensive care, high dependency wards, rehabilitation and still to this day appointments – ALL STAFF WERE EXCEPTIONAL! It is thanks to them that my mum is here with me![/p][p]I’m insanely proud of everything she has done, everything that she has overcome and I would say that she has bossed every challenge! [/p][p]Sometimes I think running a marathon is going to be hard but…[/p][p]---- it is nothing on relearning to walk, talk, read, write, speak, use cutlery (mum)[/p][p]---- it is nothing on spending days and months in hospital with an uncertain future [/p][p]---- and it is nothing on losing someone you love. [/p][p]Stroke is the fourth single largest cause of death in the UK and second in the world and half of all stroke survivors have a disability. [/p][p]Running for the STROKE ASSOCIATION is a thank you to all those who helped my mum, helped my family whilst my mum was poorly and to all those who continue to fund research to prevent stroke.[/p][p]Please donate if you can!! [/p][p]Then come and point and laugh at my beetroot red face running whilst singing to myself “just keep running, just keep running” a la Finding Nemo. [/p][p][br][/p][p]@TheStrokeAssoc / Stroke Association / shout out to @InterActStroke who I work for too[/p]
