My story

[p]Hello there, thank you for taking the time to click on the link and giving this a quick read it is greatly appreciated. Firstly, my name is Felicity Gough and I am 19 years old and live in Swansea. [/p][p]I have recently decided to the Admiral Swansea 10k Race for the charity NSPCC. The reason for this? I have wanted to do something worthwhile for a long time and I've never got around to do it, I'm not a keen runner myself I used to do more but this race in itself is going to be a challange, so im throwing myself in there to train three days a week and get this done. [/p][p]The reason im doing this is because this charity is very close to my heart, as I myself have needed this charity previously in my life and I know for a fact and all the other people who are close to me know I always say  that without this charity kicking things off and helping me get the support and help that I needed I would not be the same person I am today. I know for a fact I wouldnt be the strong independant person I am now, instead I would still have been a frightened little child and would have grown up and taken the wrong path and could have got myself in a real mess because I would not be able to deal with the things that were happening to me alone, and it needed to be put to a [span=color: #008000;]FULL STOP[/span][span=color: #008000;].[/span] I wouldnt have the friends I'm so close too now and I wouldnt be planning the career I want to go into if it was not from the help of this charity. This charity made a world of difference for my life, it could do the same for so many more. [/p][p]However,this is not always the case. Sometimes children do not speak about the nightmeres of their childhood because they fear of the consequences or just the idea that no one will believe them. Sometimes the NSPCC do not have enough funds in order to follow some cases and this is why I am doing this. Not only to make people more aware of the NSPCC but it is still there and to help that charity do as much as they can as they did for me. The things that happen to some of  us when we are younger can sometimes cause ever lasting physical, mental and more than likey emotional damage, which can change the way a child views the world we live in. When you think of a child you think of a happy, interesting little person who is ready to grow into the world, sometimes you even link back to the happy memories you had when you were younger and think "I remember I used to do that at their age", you do not think of a scared, vunerable lost child who doesnt know how to do these things such as have fun and feel free because of the problems they are going through. Just imagine your childhood being filled with negative memories that you want to forget instead of remembering them until you are old. Sad isnt it.[/p][p] Do not allow a child to feel alone, do not allow a child to feel lost, do not allow them to feel scared as the consequences of this can be much greater in the future! The work this charity does is amazing, even someone you know could have been affected by this support line at some point in their life whether it be family, a friend or even a stranger that you see in the street. But without the help of this charity and the people that run it the world would be a darker place. So I am asking you now to please donate! Even if its somethign little, £5 of 10 people is already £50. I know everyone is very caerful with their money these days but any amount can help![/p][p]Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this.[span=color: #008000;] I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations. Also, thankyou for taking the time to read this, I know many people will not take the time to do so but thank you, you are a wonderful person![/span][/p][p][/p]
