My story

[p]Dear Friends,[/p][p]I'm running this year's Royal Parks Half Marathon for a charity I've known for six years, APE Media.[/p][p]Based in East London, their main aim is to teach life and communication skills to the disengaged and disadvantaged young people of the area, through the teaching of radio and video production skills. They hope through this, to give their students a sense of purpose and achievement by giving them a pathway into seeking full-time employment or self-employment, possibly within the media industry, or alternatively as a stepping-stone into full time education. [/p][p]Their now ten-year-old organisation currently has students from as young as thirteen to as old as twenty-one on our books, on courses throughout Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forrest, Hackney and Newham.[/p][p]Some of the courses they run:-[/p][p]* Arts, Media and Publishing[/p][p]* Music Business & Production[/p][p]* Music Construction & Production[/p][p]* Radio & TV Production,[/p][p]* Performing Arts Dance & Music. [/p][p]All of the courses draw on expert and industry teaching (BBC, BFI & Brits (pan-London and nationally) to provide learners with an excellent employability platform for entry into a range of careers.[/p][p]Please do help me raise money for this worthy charity, which needs all the support it can get. Every pounds helps!![/p][p]For more information, please have a look at their website www.ape-media.com.[/p][p]Thank you![/p][p]Fiona xx[/p][p][br][/p][p][br][/p]
