My story

[p]***UPDATE***[/p][p]On the 21st September 2019 I completed my walk which in the end came to 170 miles by arriving at the City Ground and being greeted by Frank Clark. Between the 9th September and the 20th September I had covered 168.5 miles walking from Llanwddyn to Nottingham. Thank you to everyone for their support. Please read on to get the full story.[/p][p]***************[/p][p][br][/p][p]My eldest child, Fletcher Christian Johnson was stillborn on the 21st September 2009 at 39 weeks 5 days old.[/p][p]Two days before his birthday he was a fit, healthy and growing baby boy with no sign on the tragedy about to unfold. That night he passed away leaving us with a hole that will never be filled.[/p][p]2019 will mark my 50th Birthday and will also be Fletcher’s 10th Birthday.[/p][p]Fletcher would have loved the village I live in and hopefully he would also have shared my passion for Nottingham Forest Football Club.[/p][p]To commemorate our birthdays I aim to complete this challenge in his memory and to raise funds for both of my supported charities. [/p][p]Abigail's Footsteps is a Charity raising awareness of Stillbirth in the UK.[/p][p]Llanwddyn Community Centre (not currently on Virgin Giving, but hopefully coming soon) is our local community facility that plays a vital part in our Community[/p][p]I have set a target of £3652 as this will be how many days I have been without Fletcher by the time his birthday arrives.[/p][p]In September just before Fletcher’s Birthday, I aim to set off from our home village of Llanwddyn and walk to the City Ground, Nottingham, home of Nottingham Forest Football Club using the UK canal network. A walk of around 160 miles depending on towpaths available. The aim is to complete this within 2 weeks.[/p][p]This fundraiser has been moved over from BT MyDonate due to their closure (£35 raised on BT)[/p][p]Offline total includes money pledged as well as money banked.[/p]
