My story

[lt]h3[gt]Hi, thanks for visiting my page![lt]/h3[gt] [p][span=color: #99cc00; font-weight: bold;]2nd October Update: Thank you so much to everyone who contributed to the campaign! Your support really means a lot to me. To anyone who has contributed anonymously please get in touch via email (florence@nurturegroups.org) to let me know it was you! I would love to thank everyone personally. [/span][/p][p]On the 8[sup]th[/sup] of October, I will take part in my first half-marathon, running through the beautiful Royal Parks of London. What an exciting and challenging day it will be![/p] [p]I am fundraising for the Nurture Group Network (NGN), the charity I am currently working with. This is truly a great organisation and I am proud to support it through this fundraising event.[/p] [p]My goal is to raise £350 (and run 21.1 km in one go…). Your moral and financial support will help me tremendously to achieve this![/p] [p][/p][p]What does NGN do? [/p][p]Across the UK, many children and young people attend school but do not engage with learning. Think about pupils who are disrupting their class and being aggressive, or those who do not engage with other children and we never hear their voices, or those who struggle to pay attention and follow instructions.[/p] [p]Many of these children are struggling in school because of difficult circumstances at home. These pupils might go through abuse or neglect, might have witnessed the mental illness or death of a parent, or might live in disadvantaged circumstances. All these difficulties frequently translate into delays in the development of key skills and may underlie difficult behaviours, preventing children from learning and engaging at school.[/p] [p]NGN works to promote the use of a nurturing approach in education and learning. One of the key services we offer is training teachers to apply nurturing principles to their teaching, so that they are better equipped to interact with these pupils and in turn, so that pupils can develop the skills and resilience they need to make the most of learning and school.[/p][p][span=color: #99cc00;]Watch the video on the right to see what our work means to children and young people![/span][/p][p][/p][p][/p] [p]How will NGN use the funds raised?[/p][p] The funds raised as part of this campaign may be used in a variety of ways.[/p] [p]We may launch awareness events to help spread awareness about the importance of nurture in education; or we may use the money to provide bursaries for teachers to attend conferences and training; or we could use it to update our training and tools, making sure they remain as relevant and evidence-based as possible.[/p] [p]Working for the charity I know the funds will be used wisely!  [/p] [p]If you would like to know more about the charity, please visit our website: www.nurturegroups.org[/p][p][/p][p]Thank you for considering donating to the Nurture Group Network! Any amount you would like to contribute will be greatly appreciated. Every little counts to achieve the target! [/p][p][lt]br /[gt][/p][p]Florence[/p][p][/p][vmgvideo class="ql-video" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="true" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/ibS9f-y3sTA?showinfo=0&rel=0&iv_load_policy=3"][/vmgvideo]

Good luck! Of course a little bribery of offering cakes to supporters was not the biggest factor in supporting you challenge, but it did help.
