My story

[p]Hi,[/p][p]So after 8 years of breeding and looking after the Stuart clan, I’ve found myself with ‘relatively’ more spare time on my hands and two parents who are more than happy to look after 3 grandchildren for two weeks. Whilst the option of two weeks in the Caribbean is certainly appealing, I’ve decided to do something different to prove to myself that I’m still capable of such endeavours (although the attached photo showing my post Christmas triple chin look would suggest differently) and to do something I’ve always wanted to do. So in a few weeks time, Nicola (the super fit better half of this relationship), and I will begin trekking to the top of Kilimanjaro and hopefully 8 days later we will reach the summit (over 19,000ft).[/p][p]In addition, in the process, I will be looking to raise much needed funds for Kipawa (www.kipawa.org.uk). Kipawa is a charity that was founded by my former flatmate, Kirsty, and her family. It aims to set up feeding programmes and other health/counselling services for impoverished children living in Kenya. To date they have been able to provide food programmes to over 700 children at the Mukuya school (2hrs outside Nairobi), which have improved school attendance and performance. Additionally, they have sponsored a number of children to go to secondary school and been able to support infrastructure projects such as building school toilets. Whilst I know that it’s a tricky time for many people to give to charity, please take the time to look at the website and if you are able to, please sponsor me and support this great charity – no amount is too small (unbelievably it only costs £2 per month to feed a child at Mukuya school).[/p][p]Thank you for your support.[/p][p]Forbes[/p]
