[p]MEMBERS of a Ramsbottom-based training company are setting themselves a unique challenge- by running the equivalent of Everest in just 24 hours for charity.[/p][p]The challenge organised by FuseFit is set to be in aid of local charities The Joshua Wilson Brain Tumour SuperJosh Charity and Bury Hospice.[/p][p]The event will begin on Saturday, May 23 and will follow strict social distancing rules to ensure the safety of all involved.[/p][p]The run, organised by FuseFit owner and personal trainer, Ashley Reece, will take place using the local Hare & Hounds to Peel Tower Route.[/p][p][br][/p][p]Ashley, who hopes to raise at least £2000, said: “At the beginning of 2020 we set out as a group to complete 12 challenges in 12 months for the SuperJosh Charity and Bury Hospice, both doing great work in our local communities.[/p][p]"However, with the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic we had to adapt what we had planned.[/p][p]"We wanted to do something on a big scale to really challenge ourselves. Physical activity and pushing your boundaries isn’t just great for your physical health but also your mental health too.[/p][p][br][/p][p]"This is more important now than ever and I’m very proud of the team at FuseFit for getting behind this amazing event and giving it their all.[/p][p]Supporting the event and also part of the running team are the owners of local companies; Bespoke Landscapes, Peel Pumps and Holcombe Tap.[/p][p]Samantha Gibbs from The Joshua Wilson Brain Tumour Charity, said: “We are delighted Ashley and the team at FuseFit have chosen the SuperJosh Charity to benefit from this amazing challenge.[/p][p]"These kinds of fundraising events are so crucial to local charities like ourselves. All money raised will go direct to those that need it most – children and families living with brain tumours and post-surgery disabilities.[/p][p]"We can’t wait to support the FuseFit team as they smash their goals of conquering “Everest” right here in Ramsbottom!”[/p][p]Runners will go through the night in order to complete the 51 laps needed, with one lap will needing be completed every 28 minutes.[/p][p][br][/p][p]To ensure the team complete the challenge within the 24 hours an individual runner will be setting off every 28 minutes whether the next person is back in that time or not.[/p][p]To get involved in the challenge, contact FuseFit via www.fusefit.co.uk[/p]
