[p]To date Geens' directors and staff have raised over £50,000 for charity by undertaking various endurance type physical challenges. From the Three Peaks in 2005, Potteries 'Arf Marathon, Snowdonia Challenge and more recently the Lake District Ultra we have hiked, cycled, rowed, abseiled and jumped our way to helping those charities close to our heart. This year is no exception. [/p][p]This year's team includes:[/p][p]The Directors: Steve Archer, Karen Staley, Dean Clacher and Chris Beeston[/p][p]The Staff: Jared Grounsell, Nicola Jolley, Matt James, NIcky Simpson, Josh Draycott, Alistair Currie, Aaron Knox and Mitch Washington.[/p][p]This year's challenge for the team will involve rowing 11 miles across the longest natural lake in England and climbing 11 miles up England's highest mountain, Scafell Pike (total ascent 1015m). The team will join these two elements together, not by minibus but bikes, cycling through the undulating route from the head of Windermere in Ambleside to the foot of Scafell in Langdale.[/p][p]The challenge is expected to take 12-15 hours, and this year's chosen charities are the Douglas Macmillan Hospice and The Donna Louise Trust. We have been heavily involved in these charities for many years. The 'Dougie Mac' provides palliative and end of life care for adults whilst Donna Louise Trust support children, young adults with life limiting illnesses & their families. To make this worthwhile we would be very grateful if you could find a way to sponsor our team. [/p]
