My story

[p]We are raising money for Bwindi Community Hospital, in South West Uganda, where Ceri worked for two years, to support their work during the corona virus pandemic. We are each doing a different 2.6 challenge (see below)...keep an eye on our facebook pages for updates![/p][p]Angela: Run 2.6 km 2.6 times in the garden = 169 laps around the 40m circuit they've marked out![/p][p]Richard: Run 2.6 miles 2.6 times in the garden = 272 laps[/p][p]Pete: Will do 26 push ups, sit ups or squats every hour for 26 hours from 6am![/p][p]Lisa: Cycle 26 km in 2.6 hours on an exercise bike[/p][p]Ceri: Will do 26 x 26 exercises beginning with each letter of the alphabet e.g. 26 abdominal crunches, 26 bicep curls etc[/p][p]Lucy: 26 mins of hula hooping (as she's working this weekend so doesn't have time to run for hours!)[/p][p]Jen, James, Olive and Mo: Eat 26 cornflakes, paint 26 nails, paint 26 spots on themselves, paint 26 stones, stick 26 duplo pieces together, sing 26 songs, do 26 animal impressions, eat 26 sandwiches, find 26 things on a nature walk, draw 26 chalk drawings, eat 26 pieces of pasta, jump 26 times on the bed, scoot 26 times around the drive, pick 26 blades of grass, have a tea party for 26 teddies, make 26 things out of playdoh, eat 26 pieces of pizza and 26 pieces of fruit. [/p][p]Suman: Run 2.6 km[/p][p][br][/p][p]The corona virus pandemic is affecting communities all over the world. Bwindi Community Hospital needs our support more than ever as they face new challenges. The cost of medication and PPE has risen by over 100%. Travel restrictions mean that patients can’t access healthcare unless they live in one of the few villages within walking distance of the hospital. This is particularly affecting patients on long term medication for conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and HIV, who now can’t access medication. BCH has always been innovative in their approach to healthcare. They are piloting community nurses travelling by motorbike to patient’s villages to deliver medication and review patients. This will not be an easy task with a large mountainous catchment area, in rainy season and a curfew of 2pm. This will also not be an inexpensive task. Any support would be greatly appreciated.[/p][p]Thanks very much![/p]
