My story

[p]I was one of the fortunate few who gained a place in the marathon from the ballot, apparently over 400,000 people applied for 40,000 places. I paid my own entry and then have used that ballot place to offer my support to Mind.[/p][p]My running history was almost zero before gaining my ballot place, maybe I'd run a mile or two a year but I was never a runner even at school, so gaining my place is a big deal, it means not only do I have to try and run, well ok I could walk but thats not as big a challenge as trying to run 26.2 miles and if I want to make a change then run it is.[/p][p][br][/p][p]Yes I have and do still struggle with depression, every day is a challenge in one way or another, it never leaves my side, on good days I'm as happy as a lottery winner, on dark days nothing other than having a caring person to talk to and have them listen without judging, saying it'll be ok etc will help me get through it.[/p][p]I've known and know people who because of depression have attempted suicide because they felt they had no one to talk to, when days get this dark all they need is a good friend to help them through it and most will see the day through safe.[/p][p]Make time for those who need it, please.[/p][p][br][/p][p][br][/p][p][br][/p][p][br][/p]
