My story

[p]24/05/20: 3 weeks completed of 5 - 360km out of the 600km[/p][p]Over the course of 5 weeks I will be cycling 600km taking part in the duchenne dash at home. As duchenne uk were unable to do their London to paris bike ride (300km) due to the circumstances, I thought to help them out in this way. [/p][p]Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is a disease which affects many young boys. The patient will be paralysed by their teenage years and most sadly are unable to live past their 20s. I personally thought this is devastating and especially with how these boys are my age and how lucky I am which is why I want to help them.[/p][p]Two families a week in the UK are told that their child has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), a devastating muscle wasting disease that mainly affects boys.[/p][p] DMD is a desperately cruel disease. It's the most common genetic killer of children worldwide. Children will be totally paralysed by their teens and many won't live beyond their 20s. [/p][p]There is no treatment or cure. But thanks to recent breakthroughs, and with your help, we believe we can save them.[/p][p]Duchenne UK are an ambitious and highly focused charity, investing millions of pounds in research right now to bring treatments and a cure and to help this generation.[/p][p]Please help us to END DUCHENNE.[/p][p]Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to Duchenne UK. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p]
