My story

[p]Growing up for me wasn’t easy. I moved out at the age of 15, Due to a mix of unavoidable family problems and also teenage attitude problems. I lived in what was called Nacro housing where you and other under 25’s seeking somewhere to stay share a house. You all have your own bedroom with a lock in the door but the rest was communal. I had many ups and downs living in such a strange I’m environment and there were times I really just needed to speak to someone with an unbiased opinion. I remember emailing places I had found online to have either no response or to reply weeks later when at that point I’d completely calmed down and didn’t want to engage in conversation and luckily hadn’t done anything too stupid. I would allow myself to be treated in a way that I did not deserve by others as I used to feel that if I didn’t put up with what I had I would have nothing. This eventually led on to anorexia and serious self esteem issues. I feel like a lot of my down times could have been avoided and I could of made far more level headed decisions had I had support from a charity like this. There were times I really needed someone to talk to but couldn’t bring myself to speak to family and friends. This is where the mix comes in. They are always there to help people vulnerable and searching for guidance. Almost 3 million people per year go to this charity with problems that are un thinkable. They need the mix, they need support, they need compassion. So let’s smash it for them and make sure they can continue to give the support the young people of the UK need and deserve.[/p]
