My story

[p]Hello everyone![/p][p]The Captain Tom 100 Challenge was made in commemoration of a 99-year-old Englishman named Tom Moore who died in 2020. Captain Tom Moore ran 100 lengths of his garden to raise money for the struggling NHS during the global pandemic and ended up raising a incredible $58.9 million dollars (32.8 million english pounds). [/p][p]The idea of this challenge is you do 100 of anything to celebrate this pandemic hero. It could be doing 100 star jumps, planting 100 flowers or even writing 100 hundred poems! However, I have chosen to bake 100 cookies and it would be fantastic if you could support me by sponsoring me on this journey![/p][p]The money raised will go toward the Nystagmus Network, a network dedicated to spreading awareness and supporting people with this eye condition. I have struggled with Nystagmus for all 12 years of my life so I can really understand what people with this condition are going through. It means we have uncontrollable eye movement such as vibrating or flickering of the eyes. For lots of us this means that we will never be able to drive, play lots of small ball sports (like tennis), or even be able to read properly as my eye vibration can cause words to flicker in and out of focus, move around or multiply. I’m lucky as I can still do lots of awesome things, but other kids like me struggle with this everyday and now it’s time to support them, whether you’re one of them or not. [/p][p]If you were to sponsor me you would be helping 18.9 million children under the age of 15 with visual impairment and at the same time be supporting Captain Tom Moore, the greatest hero during COVID-19. I hope you decide to help me as I bake 100 cookies![/p][p]Thank you![/p][p]Have a great day,[/p][p]Georgie. [/p]
