My story

[p]Thank you for visiting our team's fundraising page for the 2019 London Legal sponsored walk.[/p][p]Our team is: Kirsty Everley, Selina Whiteside, Deirdre Taylor, Panayiota Burquier, Jonathan Cockfield, Tom Berry, Charlie Griggs, Kerry Mills, Sunita Patel, Katie Mills, Shannon Pepper, Charlotte Fuscone, Amy Hyam, Georgia Derbyshire, Elliott Cook, Andy Lee, Sophie Davies, Amy Kennedy, Samirah Haujee, Zakiyyah Salim-Williams, Michele Maryott, Amanda Huynh[/p][p]We are walking with the Lord Chief Justice and thousands of lawyers to raise funds for the London Legal Support Trust which works to support law centres and legal advice agencies in London and the South East by providing them with grant funding alongside other forms of support.[/p][p]Our team is also supporting Redress, which will receive half of the funds we raise. Redress use the law to seek justice and reparation for survivors of torture, to combat impunity for governments and individuals who perpetrate torture, and to develop and promote compliance with international standards. They support survivors like Necati Zontul, who was tortured after the boat he was travelling on with other migrants was intercepted by Greek coastguards in Crete, or like Olivier Acuña, who was wrongly imprisoned in Mexico for two years and tortured because of his work as a journalist.[/p][p]Please sponsor our walkers as generously as you are able[/p][p]Many thanks for your support[/p][p]Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p]
