My story

[p]I am taking on the Richmond Marathon on 15th September 2019 in aid of Mosaic Family Support and SANDS (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity).[/p][p]Mosaic are a local Dorset charity supporting children, young people and their families at times of bereavement or when facing the death of family members suffering terminal illness. My Niece sadly lost her Father to Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SDAS) and has been receiving support from Mosaic. Without this support I am not sure how she would have been able to cope. More that this though they have also been providing support for the rest of her family too, giving her Mum one less thing to have to worry about. [/p][p]Mosaic was established in 2007 in order to provide counselling to children and families, and also organise a residential weekends or family gatherings, allowing children the opportunity to meet with others in a similar situation to share experiences and support each other. They offer support to children who have lost a loved one due to terminal illness, suicide, murder and sudden death.[/p][p]I am also raising money for SANDS, this is a charity very close to the heart of close friends of my family. SANDS is a charity providing support for people effected by Stillbirth and Neonatal Death. Sadly our friend was pregnant with twins, they arrived prematurely and one baby didn't survive. SANDS donated the family a memory box in order that they could remember their angel, this box included a hand and foot print, and a tiny teddy for each of the girls which can be treasured, along with many other things which hold great sentimental value. Since this my friend has been raising money for the charity in order that they can continue to provide bereavement support and fund research to prevent neonatal deaths in the future.[/p][p]Across the UK 15 babies die on average each day, this is tragic for the families who have been waiting for their precious little angels.[/p][p]I have never taken part in an activity like this before, I thought that it was only possible to run for a bus or last orders, however, I am absolutely determined to take the pain and the sacrifice in order that others can benefit from the support of these two very worthwhile charities. The suffering I will have for a short time is nothing compared to the suffering these families go through on a daily basis. Please support these very worthy causes to help others.[/p]
