My story

[p]Hi all, thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page. As many of you are aware I was lucky enough to win a place in the ballot for the London Marathon on 22-April-2018. I would like to mark my first marathon by raising money to help support Stepping Stones DS.[/p][p]I'm the proud father of two amazing little boys, Oscar & Erik and like any other parent have experienced many ups and downs through the early stages of their young lives. When my eldest son Oscar (now 5 years old) was born he was diagnosed with Down's syndrome.[/p][p]When we moved to Fleet in Hampshire, we discovered Stepping Stones DS who provide a wide range of support, training, information, social events and accessible activities for children and young people with Down Syndrome.[/p][p]Oscar has already benefited hugely from their support, ranging from regular speech & language therapy to horse riding, as well as being an invaluable support network to his parents! Your support will enable Stepping Stones to carry on its fantastic work in providing opportunities for children with DS to take part in new experiences, grow in confidence, be included and change attitudes.[/p][p]Please visit their website on http://www.steppingstonesds.co.uk for more info.[/p][p]For those interested in my training, going well so far with lots of miles already banked. I completed the Wokingham Half Marathon in February and the Surrey Half Marathon on the 11th March. [/p][p]I'm just updating this page today (03-April) after completing my longest training run over the weekend! Will now taper the training down to stay fresh for the big race on 22 April :-) [/p][p] [/p]
