[p]I am planning to swim for 5 minutes 3 times a week (river level permitting) in water (average temp 3 degrees) in a swimsuit for the month of February. This is for a total of 60 minutes for the month. Please could you sponsor me per minute and I'll post every swim that I do.[/p][p]I am a regular ice swimmer so have experienced this before. Please don't try this if you haven't done it.[/p][p]Set up in 2009, by John Sentamu, then Archbishop of York, the Archbishop of York Youth Trust (www.abyyt.com) exists to see a generation of young people empowered to transform society. Through working in partnership with schools, churches and communities, we develop opportunities for young people to grow in leadership, faith and character through volunteering and leading on social action projects across the country. The Youth Trust covers the whole of the North of England and has been growing into the rest of the country since 2020.[/p][p]Like all charities during the pandemic, the Youth Trust has been affected for obvious reasons. And the other people who are being affected are YOUNG PEOPLE, which are exactly the generation the Youth Trust is designed to help.[/p][p]We are asking you to give generously so the Youth Trust can survive and continue its vital work to help young people in the aftermath of Covid 19.[/p][p]All money raised will go towards empowering young people to rebuild and strengthen their communities.[/p]
