[p]Every year the London Marathon raises tens of millions of pounds for charities, last year raising a whopping £66.4million! While we all have fingers crossed for the October 4th event, the 2.6 challenge aims to make something positive of the April date and to continue the amazing positive impact that the London Marathon and running in general can have. People across the country are coming together to get creative and raise funds to help 'save the UK's charities' at this difficult time.[/p][p]We have decided to take on the 2.6 challenge as a club to raise vital funds for club charities Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, Chance for Childhood and Jill's Fundraising Journey (Alice Holt Inclusive Cycling, our third official club charity for this year isn't on an online fundraising platform so we will ensure we raise money for them later in the year too). [/p][p]The challenges:[/p][p]To take part, please donate £2.60 (or whatever you feel comfortable donating) to the club fundraising page and either: [/p][p]-Go out for a 2.6 mile run/walk and send us your best run selfie or run view [/p][p]-Find the most inventive 2.6 mile running route and track it on Strava or another similar platform [/p][p]Please email a picture/screenshot of your entries to email@example.com before 12pm on the 8th May and our esteemed panel of judges will vote for whichever they think is the best. The winner will be announced at the club virtual awards evening on the 8th May, and the best entry for each category will win eternal club glory, a shoutout in the newsletter - which I know you all want - and a top secret prize when we’re all back together again. [/p][p]Good luck![/p][p](If for some reason neither of these challenges appeal to you, feel free to get creative and take on your own individually - the more the merrier!)[/p]
