My story
[p]Thanks for everyone's support and fantastic donations, can we have a big push now and try and get over the £30,000 target??[/p][p]Thanks, Gareth[/p][p][br][/p][p]Hi, Thanks for visiting my page. [/p][p]Very apprehensively I have agreed to take part in a challenge that will be physically and mentally incredibly tough for me, but a challenge that will highlight the sleep deprivation that many of the families of the youngsters that Donna Louise help to look after, because of the medication and 24 hour around the clock care they need. For me it will be a short period of sleep deprivation for these families they experience sleep deprivation day after day, week after week, month after month and year after year. [/p][p]Every pound I raise will help the Hospice support these families massively.[/p][p]The Challenge is Tower to Tower 2! Having supported Travers Wallett (our Head of Business Development) in 2015 when the team rowed from the Tower of London to the Eifel Tower in Paris, I thought it was time I did my bit![/p][p]First off this challenge has never been attempted before via this route. It is physically intense and deliberately provokes extreme sleep deprivation to highlight the plight of many of the parents of children cared for by Donna Louise, for whom total exhaustion is just the way life is.[/p][p]The challenge this time comprises of an 82 hour, 325 mile, non-stop, self-propelled journey from Paris to London. This time starting at the Eiffel Tower in Paris we will:-[/p][p][br][/p][p]NON STOP CYCLE for 18 hours the 150 miles to Le Harve to then immediately, [/p][p]Then ROW 115 miles across the English Channel for 40 hrs to Brighton to then immediately[/p][p]Followed by RUN!! / Walk for 24 hrs the 60 miles to Tower Bridge[/p][p] [/p][p]This challenge, via this route has never been attempted before. [/p][p] [/p][p]My aim is to raise at least £25,000 to help The Donna Louise Hospice an amazing place in Stoke on Trent who care for children age from 0 to 20 who all suffer from severe life limiting conditions. [/p][p] [/p][p]Training has commenced, I’ve started my fundraising off with my own donation of £500.00 so please now help me get to my fundraising target by sponsoring me on line or pledging a donation. [/p][p] [/p][p]Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to the Hospice. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this.[/p][p] [/p][p]I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p][p] [/p][p]Thanks so much,[/p][p] [/p][p]Gareth[/p]
