My story

[p]Arthritis steals from millions of people every single day. It can stop you from being intimate, moving freely or just being yourself. Arthritis steals from millions of people every single day.[/p][p]Versus Arthritis is a significant and powerful charity that pushes back against arthritis. Through volunteers, healthcare professionals, researchers and friends, they lead the way in overcoming a disease that shouldn’t exist. They build communities, provide support and command the much needed fight against arthritis.[/p][p]My aunty T (also known as Tdawg, Wacky and Smell… don't ask) was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in her early teens. For those who have the privilege of T’s company, you’ll know that she is kind, stubborn, mad and the life and soul of a party. But if we’re being honest, T has been dealt an unforgivable hand that she is totally undeserving of. I want to be clear that Arthritis has never defined T, and she always pushes forward. She has Greg (equally mad and utterly amazing) and Mick, her family and friends and she has little old me cheering her on from the side-lines (my family will know that I have very long legs, so this marathon should be a breeze...)[/p][p]I’m running the London Marathon because Versus Arthritis needs support and funding; I’m running the marathon because arthritis is a cruel, unforgiving and brutal disease; I’m running the marathon because in 5, 10, 50 years, we should be seeing breakthroughs not suffering.[/p][p]It’s as simple as that. Please donate, please be generous. Ask me questions and challenge my rationale… just please think about the millions of people out there that battle this cruel disease everyday.[/p][p]Arthritis has threatened and at times succeeded, in bringing T down. You’ve never given in though T, and you should know how proud I am to have you in my life. I’m running the marathon not just for you, but for all those people who need help, who need research and who need a friend.[/p][p]Thank you for your support, and I’ll see you at the finish line… please have a bottle prosecco waiting.[/p][p]Lots of Love, Hols x[/p][p]P.S. An extra big thank you to family, friends and Liaison Dining who have all contributed, sponsored and supported me along the way - emotionally and financially! [/p]
