[p]Thankyou for reading....[/p][p]So here we go again!.....having completed the swim of the english channel in 2017 ......we are back for more😀[/p][p]The new challenge? To swim to France and back starting from the Kent coast, an individual swim by myself (wet suit) supported by my team aboard Anastasia and piloted again by the Channel swim pilots federation's (CSPF) Eddie Spelling.[/p][p]When? The swim is due to go ahead on a day (that mother nature allows) between the 22nd -28th of August 2019. [/p][p]Why? To complete a life time ambition, hopefully inspiring others to realise the possibilities through and the benefits from health and fitness. To raise the profile and money for charity, the same charities as last time with the addition of ABF (Army benevolent fund). These charities support those that have given, sacrifced, unfairly suffered and those that choose to help.[/p][p]I estimate this swim will take about 27 hours if the distance is completed (approx 43 miles) swimming throughout the night when required, dealing with any eventuality we encounter. Feeding regularly but not touching the boat or support team at all or at anytime. After clearing water on the French side 10 minutes is given to me to stand or sit back in the water before heading back. The clock does not stop here, it will only stop once back on British soil.[/p][p]With all costs paid by myself I do not take for granted the support of those around me which allow the opportunity to be possible. Team work often being a solution to many problems.[/p][p]I ask for your support, any donation at all will be very, very much appreciated and will go to great causes.[/p][p]Thankyou for reading.[/p][p]Huw and team.[/p][p]Update....the swim was successful!!!! starting on the 24th and finishing on the 25th of August 2019. More information can be found on my pilots Facebook page 'love swimming the channel' on the above dates posts.....or on email email@example.com[/p][p]27 hour 5 minutes was the swim duration the first leg to France taking 12 hour 30 mins(the lower red line on the track). Approximately 97000 strokes!, equating to 2880 lengths of a 25 meter pool the calculated total distance was 45 miles and finished 4kg lighter than when I started. With over 55 feeds created and provided by my support team powering me along with all your support and donations I thank you all. The damage = one strained left extensor digitorum! Chafe, swollen tongue and throat and a bit of sunburn....was it worth it? Absolutely!!![/p][p]We were gifted with the weather, a very calm sea it was a great adventure recommending it to anyone who thinks it maybe within their limits....go for it![/p][p]Thankyou,[/p][p]Huw and team[/p]
