My story

[p]  [/p][p][span=font-size: 7.5pt; font-family: "Verdana",sans-serif; color: black;]Back in 2013 IEPUK set up an initiative called the Investing in Communities Scheme (IICS), you can read more about this [url=http://iepuk.co.uk/investing-in-communities-scheme]here[/url]. We wanted to be able to give something back to these communities so we were not only enabling these individuals to gain invaluable knowledge through global work experience placements but also making a difference on the ground. With being a company based in Rutland I already know about some of the work The Rutland Osprey Project are involved in and it was clear how this fits so well with what we are IEPUK are aiming to achieve. After a meeting with Tim Mackrill the Rutland Osprey Project became IEPUK's charity of choice and in September 2014 we were able to present The Rutland Osprey Project with our first donation. We then took part in a Santa Fun run to raise further funds for the project and after this my wife thought a half marathon might be a good idea![/span] [/p][p][/p][p][span=font-size: 7.5pt; font-family: "Verdana",sans-serif; color: black;]Soon 28 June 2015 I'm going to be taking part in the Coombe Abbey half marathon. For those of you who enjoy running this is described as having "views across the lake and lapping through wild flower meadows to deliver a race with picturesque scenery"... to someone like me where running is something you do as a necessary evil (mainly when it is raining and you have no umbrella) I fail to see how when taking part in a "race" you will be able to notice the scenery and I will be happy to make it to the finish line alive and not in last place! As for the word "race" this I feel should be replaced with "jog". [/span][/p][p][/p][p][span=font-size: 7.5pt; font-family: "Verdana",sans-serif; color: black;]I am doing this to raise funds for the Rutland Osprey Project to support the work they do, all donations will be gratefully received, I have a target of £300 but would love to reach £500![/span] [/p][p] Hi, thanks for visiting my page. Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
