My story

[p]On Tuesday 11th August, I decided to go for a run up Conic Hill with my friend Dave. We witnessed someone have a serious incident that required a multi agency response including Lomond MRT. A couple already attending called the police and the Lomond Mountain Rescue Team. I saw the fantastic work the team do first hand as they performed CPR on the patient for over 40 minutes, assisting with the helicopter evacuation to hospital and assisting the NHS Ambulance Service after the event.[/p][p]I'd like to raise money for them, as a charity Lomond MRT depend on fundraising to maintain its first class service. They are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year! [/p][p]The plan is to run the full West Highland Way on Saturday 5th September with my friends Stuart & Scott from Fort William to Milngavie. I've never done this full route before so it should be a real challenge, and hopefully worthy of some donations to a fantastic charity![/p][p]"Lomond is one of the busiest Mountain Rescue Teams in Scotland. Assisting walkers and climbers for fifty years, since its foundation in 1967. Covering an area of over 1000 square miles in one of the most popular mountain areas of Scotland. The Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park sees two million visitors a year, 60,000 walkers annually attempt the West Highland Way and Ben Lomond itself has over 30,000 walkers and climbers".[/p]
