My story

[p]On the 7th/8th June rode The Duchenne Dash (300km - London to Paris in 24 hours) to help save the life of the thousands of children with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Our goal is to raise at least £1,000,000, all of which will go direct to medical research. [/p][p]Duchenne UK is a lean, ambitious and highly focused charity with a clear vision: to fund and accelerate treatments and a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and to beat this disease in a decade – to End Duchenne in Ten. Duchenne UK is run by parents, committed to saving this generation of boys with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.[/p][p]The charity has been formed by the coming together of Joining Jack and Duchenne Children's Trust, who between them over the last five years have raised over £10 million. [/p][p]They have spent £6.5m to date and committed a further £3.5m to accelerating research making them the two biggest funders of research in the UK.[/p][p]With a view to trying to raise the profile of the Charity on Saturday 9th of March, three boys suffering from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (Eli, Felix and Jack) walked out with Owen Farrell and the England rugby team ahead of their Guinness Six Nations game against Italy.[/p][p]Owen Farrell has been an ambassador for the Duchenne UK Charity for a number of years and most will recall Owen's JJ crossed finger celebration after scoring. This represents Joining Jack one of the charities that formed Duchenne UK. [/p][p][br][/p][p][br][/p][p][br][/p]
