[p]UPDATE 3.4.2021:[/p][p]My best friend and I hosted an Easter Zoom Quiz, raising so far over £130 plus gift aid. What I found incredibly moving was that many of the participants didn't even know me personally but wanted to support the cause anyway. I am incredibly grateful to them, as well as everyone else who took part and have supported me in other ways. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.[/p][p][br][/p][p][br][/p][p]UPDATE 5.7.2020: Yesterday my best friend and I hosted a quiz on Zoom to help my fundraising. It was a fun evening and I'm really grateful to everyone who took part.[/p][p][br][/p][p]UPDATE 20.6: My best friend has raised over a £100 after offering tarot readings online. I'm incredibly grateful to her and everyone who has purchased a reading from her. I have also done readings and would like to thank everyone who chose to support my fundraising in this way. I will continue to offer readings throughout my fundraising.[/p][p][br][/p][p]On 1st of June 2020 I had my final session with The Birchall Trust, bringing a years-long journey to an end. During this time, I have been suicidal, hospitalised, unemployed, a victim in a police investigation, and finally back on my feet in full-time employment. [/p][p][br][/p][p]Throughout it all, the Trust has been with me. [/p][p][br][/p][p]The Birchall Trust offers weekly counselling to people whose lives have been affected by rape or sexual abuse in South Cumbria and North Lancashire. Due to high demand, the current waiting time for new attendees can be up to a year.[/p][p][br][/p][p]Now, I want to give back. I have consulted the target sum of this fundraiser with the Trust. We have come to an approximation that the sessions (including the counsellor’s fee, room charge, support staff costs etc) from the entire time I have been with them is £8,000.[/p][p][br][/p][p]Doing this fundraiser has been my long-term goal. I decided long ago that once I am at this stage of my journey, I want the support that I was given to be available for someone else. [/p][p][br][/p][p]I expect this to be a long-term project, but I will be updating this page as I figure out ways that I can raise funds and awareness of this amazing charity.[/p][p][br][/p][p]If you would like to know more about them, please visit https://www.birchalltrust.org.uk/[/p][p][br][/p][p]I also tell about my journey in my blog www.aroundtheworldin80days.com [/p][p][br][/p][p]Regardless whether you choose to donate, thank you for your time.
