This has affected many charities and has had a huge impact on veterans nationwide.[/p][p]Both Blesma (The limbless veterans charity) and Combat Stress (For veterans’ mental health) are essential services to veterans helping them with their rehabilitation and a better future.[/p][p][br][/p][p]In January 2021 I will be taking part in a Tandem skydive from a height of 13,000 ft. This is a great way to raise funds for our heroes who are both physically and mentally affected by their injuries. By supporting me you can play a part in helping those who were prepared to give their lives to serve in our armed forces.[/p][p]Together lets help these heroes.[/p][p][br][/p][p]I promise you that 100% of your donation will go towards helping those wounded in conflict to have a better future . [/p][p][br][/p][p]Amputation Statistics[/p][p]7 October 2001 to 31 March 2019: There were 301 UK Service personnel whose injuries included a traumatic or surgical amputation because of injuries sustained in Afghanistan. Of these, three quarters have been medically discharged.[/p][p][br][/p][p]1 March 2003 to 31 March 2019: There were 32 UK Service personnel whose injuries included a traumatic or surgical amputation because of injuries sustained in Iraq. Of these, half have been medically discharged.[/p][p][br][/p][p]1 April 2014 to 31 March 2019: In the latest five-year period, there were 154 UK Service personnel who sustained a traumatic or surgical amputation because of injuries or illness. Of these, one quarter have been medically discharged.[/p][p][br][/p][p]Suicides in the UK Regular Armed Forces:[/p][p]For the 20-year period 2000-2019, 306 suicides occurred among UK regular armed forces personnel: 288 among males, and 18 among females. This represents an addition since the previous notice of one death in 2013, three deaths in 2017, 11 deaths in 2018 and 10 deaths in 2019.[/p][p][br][/p][p]Combat stress:[/p][p]For over a century they have been helping former servicemen and women deal with issues like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety and depression. Today they provide specialist treatment and support for veterans from every service and conflict, focusing on those with complex mental health issues.[/p][p][br][/p][p]Blesma:[/p][p]Blesma, The Limbless Veterans (formerly known as the British Limbless Ex-Servicemen's Association) is a British charity that helps all serving and ex-Service men and women who have lost limbs, or lost the use of limbs or eyes, to rebuild their lives by providing rehabilitation activities and welfare support.[/p]
