Team story

[p]A group of JMW explorers are taking up the challenge of the Yorkshire Three Peaks on 22nd June and we'd hugely appreciate your support! [/p][p]We are fundraising for two superb causes, Disabilities Trust and Bobath who provide invaluable support and care for people across the UK. (For more information on our chosen charities please see below). [/p][p]The challenge must be completed with 12 hours and includes the three highest peaks in Yorkshire. With no travel between the peaks, the challenge is a non-stop gruelling walk across up Pen-y-Ghent, Whernsid and Ingleborough. The team of 19 includes:[/p][p]Eddie Jones, Steven Brown, Oliver Orton, Sarah Wilkinson, Kathryn Dyson, Lucy Mellor from our clinical negligence team. Along with Beth Livesey, Ben Peppi, Jake Filson, Becky Talaka, Sadie Thomson, Catherine O'Rourke, Catherine Gaynor and Mark Heppell also from JMW. [/p][p]ICOM are also supporting the challenge and fundraising with a team of four including Kate Sherratt, Jamal Atcha, Ryan Cunningham and Liz Walmsley along with Jim Rainford from Miller Insurance (as Mike Rainford's proxy). [/p][p]Wish the team luck and follow all the updates on twitter using #TeamJMW [/p][p]More about our chosen charities:[/p][p]By the nature of work our team undertake at JMW we see first hand the devastating impact a brain injury has on the lives of children and adults across the UK. Organisations such as The Disabilities Trust and Bobath Centre provide exceptional support to both the person with the injury and also their families and we hope our fundraising goes some way to help the organisations continue to support families all over the UK. [/p][p]The Disabilities Trust is a leading national charity, providing innovative care, rehabilitation and support solutions for people with acquired brain injury, complex physical disabilities and learning disabilities, as well as children and adults with autism.[/p][p]Our second charity is the The Bobath Centre, the UK’s leading cerebral palsy treatment and training charity and has been working in the field for over 60 years. Physio, occupational and speech and language therapists have a wealth of experience and can assess and treat cerebral palsy in the very young. Bobath also have a sister charity that supports young adults with CP and older clients with a range of neuro-developmental conditions including stroke, Parkinson’s and MS.[/p]
