My story

[p]Dear Amigos,[/p][p]I have decided to put myself through the ‘hurt locker’ again and participate in the London Marathon in October. Given how painful it was to complete the 2019 Marathon, I honestly believed that would be my final one and that I could then enjoy the (thought at least) of being on a sunny beach somewhere enjoying a few cold ones and not worry about training. Alas, considering the 'Annus horriblus' we’ve all endured I feel that it is a very important time to support Charities which like many sectors have been hit very hard financially as a result of COVID and which normally rely hugely on charitable donations. Therefore, I am very excited to be part of the Alzheimer’s Society Marathon team and hope you will help support this great charity by your kind and generous donations[/p][p] I am taking on the challenge of the London Marathon again this year to raise money for “Alzheimer’s Society’. Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading dementia charity. Alzheimer’s Society campaigns for change, and funds research to find cure and support people living with dementia today. This important Charity seeks to transform the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day we find a cure, the Alzheimer’s Society will strive to create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, and are able to live in their community without fear or prejudice. [/p][p]Running for the ‘Alzheimer’s Society means a lot to me on a personal level as I lost my Grandma to dementia a few years back and so understand how sad and difficult it can be to live with and the strain it can cause on families. This is why I really feel that generating awareness and fundraising in this area is absolutely essential.[/p][p] To check out the fine work the ‘Alzheimer’s Society does please look at their website https://www.alzheimers.org.uk/[/p][p]I would be extremely grateful if you could make any donation to this very worthwhile charity which urgently needs funding to continue its valuable work. My apologies in advance if you have made an anonymous donation already![/p][p]The link https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/JamesBalfour3[/p][p]I look forward to seeing you all soon[/p][p]James[/p][p]x[/p][p][br][/p][p][br][/p][p][br][/p][p][br][/p][p].[/p]
