My story

[p]Having completed the Bath Half Marathon as ‘Buddy’ the speech bubble I am now focussing on my final few weeks of preparation to run the London Marathon in the costume. I am fundraising for the NSPCC to generate as much awareness of their national schools’ ‘Speak Out. Stay Safe’ Programme‘ as I can (as well as raise as much money as possible). On the day I will be running with 53 of my KPMG colleagues as the Firm have pledged to raise £1Million over two years for the NSPCC and are actively supporting the schools’ programme by funding the costume’s manufacture.[/p][p]Following Buddy’s recent outing in Bath, this will be his first full marathon (and my first in London since 2005). While my goal is to complete it in @5 hours, I am not expecting it to be an easy costume to run in and while I might not always be smiling, hopefully it will bring a smile to the faces of those watching and recognition from children who have met Buddy during the school assemblies. Most importantly I hope it helps to increase awareness of the Charity’s programme. [/p][p]The NSPCC are the only charity in the UK fighting to end child abuse and neglect. Every childhood is worth fighting for. Their ‘Speak Out. Stay Safe’ programme is ensuring every primary school across the UK is visited by trained NSPCC volunteers and staff and of course Buddy. They deliver an assembly and workshop to the children, at no cost to the school, in order to equip the current generation with the knowledge they need to stay safe and ensure they know who they can speak out to. [/p][p]I would be so grateful if you are able to sponsor me and help me reach my fundraising target. Thank you.[/p][p] [/p]
