My story

[p]I am a Technology Security Consultant by day but happiest when faced with a big challenge, and not much tops riding a bike over big mountains in the Alps. I have my wife to thank for getting me involved as she’s been working closely with Strive and Big Change, so when she told me about this great opportunity and the wonderful work they do, I jumped in with both wheels![/p][p]The challenge involves cycling 600km and 10,000m of climbing across the Alps, starting in Monaco and finishing in Tignes. Over 5 days the route will tackle plenty of iconic mountain climbs such as Cime de la Bonnette, the Col D’Izoard, Col du Vars and the Col du Galibier.[/p][p]The Strive Challenge helps raise money for Big Change, a social impact accelerator who back big ideas that help young people to thrive in life, not just in exams. This amazing organisation does some incredible work to improve equality in this country, such as encouraging art-based crime prevention in schools, helping young people support vulnerable people in their community, and funding basketball projects that help to tackle gang culture and knife crime. They give young people a voice where they might otherwise never get the chance to have their opinions heard, and provide the tools, encouragement, and equal opportunities they need to make change happen. [/p][p]Having two young children, this is a charity that is close to my heart and I hope that everyone who feels the same will help me hit my £3000 fundraising target. Investing in the next generation is what helps to shape our future, so please dig deep and donate, the cost of the event is funded by the participants so any and every contribution, big or small, will help towards change in this country.[/p]
