My story

[p]I’m doing a cycle machine 600 mile challenge from Cornwall to Scotland to raise money for Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust Charity - who care and treat patients right across the entire 500,000 population of Cornwall. This is my way of supporting and thanking the incredible efforts of NHS staff during the Coronavirus crisis. I will attempt an indoor cycle machine journey which will start at Royal Cornwall Hospital and finish at my 83 year-old father’s house near St Andrews in Fife, Scotland. As I cannot visit him during the lockdown, this cycle machine challenge is my virtual way of travelling to see him while raising funds for a vital healthcare service in Cornwall. [/p][p]The Covid19 Fund, part of Royal Cornwall Hospitals Charity will support the welfare of NHS staff now and in the recovery period of the Covid 19 pandemic and also provide support for patients and their families at this difficult time.[/p][p]Funds will be used to... [/p][p]- help provide NHS staff with refreshment and nourishment in this difficult time[/p][p]- to enhance staff rest areas[/p][p]- support staff in their recovery following the Covid19 pandemic[/p][p]- to provide additional support for patients and their families at this difficult time[/p][p]- help provide discharge packs with basic provision for elderly and vulnerable patients returning home after a hospital stay[/p][p]The list of uses for the fund is not exhaustive, we know that the NHS requirements may change in the coming weeks.[/p][p]Please donate to this fundraising initiative. Thank you. [/p]
