My story

[p]Thank you very much for visiting my page.[/p][p][br][/p][p]I'm running the London Landmark Half Marathon on the 1st of August.[/p][p]I have signed up myself as a challenge to keep myself motivated during lockdown.[/p][p][br][/p][p]However, I would like to raise a little bit of money for a charity from my home town, The Jamie Adamson Memorial Fund, commonly known as the JAM Fund.[/p][p][br][/p][p]JAM Fund is run by my Stepfather, Paul Adamson, who set up the charity in memory of his little boy Jamie, who sadly died of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia on the 20th of January 2004. [/p][p][br][/p][p]JAM Fund aims to raise as much as possible to help children in Wales and throughout the UK who are suffering from this awful illness. [/p][p][br][/p][p]To date JAM Fund has used the money it's been able to raise to help the following:[/p][p][br][/p][p]£15,000 cash donation to LATCH charity at University Hospital Wales[/p][p][br][/p][p]£15,000 cash donation to Children with Cancer charity, Great Ormond Street, London[/p][p][br][/p][p]£60,000 used to purchase and run a static caravan from 2007 to 2014, offering free holidays to hundreds of children from all over the UK.[/p][p][br][/p][p]£28,000 used to purchase a wheelchair adapted minibus, donated to Martin House children's hospice in Yorkshire.[/p][p][br][/p][p]£15,000 donated to children's wards at UHW for medical and general equipment, not in their budgets[/p][p][br][/p][p]£40,000 donated to children throughout S Wales under the care of hospitals and special schools[/p][p][br][/p][p]£17,000 was donated to Leeds General Infirmary to purchase two Massimo blood monitors. which enable blood analysis to be taken from children without the need for a needle[/p][p][br][/p][p]£6,000 donated to six children to help with travel costs to attend medical treatment in the USA[/p][p][br][/p][p](Almost) £200,000 donated to children throughout the UK ( and their families) used for gifts, holidays, medical expenses, general living expenses, treatments not covered by the NHS, medical equipment, etc.[/p][p][br][/p][p]and during lockdown, it helped a number of local care homes by providing PPE[/p][p][br][/p][p]So hopefully, as you can see, any money that can be raised will be going to a good place. [/p][p][br][/p][p]If you want any more information on the JAM Fund, please feel free to speak to me, visit JAM fund index or contact Paul on jamfund@sky.com or on 07735 612709[/p][p][br][/p]
