My story

[p]After spending many hours looking after 1000’s of cyclists on their big challenges and saying to myself “I should sign up to one” - well I have!! [/p][p]In 124 days time (correct at time of writing) on the 11th May 2019 I and my trusty bike are taking part in the Dulux London Revolution Ride! This as the paperwork says is an iconic ride that travels a massive 300km loop around London. Yes 300km! There was the option to ride it over two days but I thought if I was going to stand a chance of getting anywhere near my target of £5,000 I needed to set the bar high so I’m going to do it in one day, (we are given about 15 hours to complete the ride) which Thereby I can hopefully persuade you all to part with your hard earned money!! (Please) Bear in mind that I have not done anything like this in over ten years..[/p][p]As many of you will know 2018 was hard for us, with Adie losing her mum after a cruel heartbreaking demise to Alzheimer’s and myself having some heart issues (yes that means I have a heart!!) that gave me a big wake-up call and was a bit of a turning point for us as a family - thankfully now all fixed. So the two main charities that I am fittening myself up to raise money for are Alzheimer’s Research UK and the British Heart Foundation. We have also had over the last few years good friends who have needed help and support from two other great charities, MacMillan Caring Locally and Oakhaven Hospice so they will also be getting a share of my total. The last charity I am supporting is a group who we have had the pleasure of looking after a couple of times as they raise money and awareness of the need for things to change within education, the Big Change. [/p][p]I know times are hard and everyday you get emails from people wanting sponsorship for one thing or another. I have set myself this challenge which I will be doing no matter how much money I raise, bjut please feel free to try and encourage a slightly(!) overweight guy on his old trusty bike to pedal a bit harder and faster for these great charities! [/p][p]Many thanks Jx [/p]
