[p]Dear Supporters,[/p][p]This year, I am running the London Marathon for an amazing local charity - the Power of Parenting. Yes, it’s going to be tough and the training plan is daunting, but I am absolutely privileged to have been given this place – the first that the Charity has ever secured for this event! [/p][p]This is why I am doing it…[/p][p]Like many of my friends, family and colleagues, I am a parent and have always put my children first. They live in a safe, warm and loving environment and have been given all the opportunities they could possibly wish for. They are luckier than they could ever imagine. [/p][p]It is very easy for us to carry on with our busy lives, unaware of the pain and neglect that some children are going through. I have known Paul and Sam Adams, the charity co-founders for a few years, but since meeting a little boy in their care when he joined my sons local Saturday football team, I have been absolutely in awe of the sacrifices Paul and Sam have personally made to support foster children in need of ‘urgent’ care and the fantastic charity that they have since created. There is a desperate need for more foster families to support children who need new homes and this is one of the reasons the charity was established - to promote positive fostering stories and help recruitment. There is a need to break the cycle of neglect and in some cases, crime, that so many young children in care can find themselves heading towards if they are not supported. [/p][p]You would not believe the change in some of these frightened children who lack confidence and self-esteem when they are suddenly shown some consistent kindness and support. This is the "Power of Parenting" and is done for the benefit of the children and with their best interests at heart.[/p][p]I have a high fundraising target, but any donation you are able to make will help POP charity to achieve their main priorities, which are to provide financial and moral support to fostered and adopted children in my local area. This is in the form of a bursary, helping them to fulfil their academic and sporting ambitions, giving them greater opportunity to achieve their own personal goals later in life. We can really help to make a difference for these children, so please help me by donating as much as you can![/p][p]Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for your donation – not only will your generosity help me get through 16 whole weeks of long and difficult training runs, but you will personally help to secure a happy life for a local child who so desperately needs it.[/p][p]Love Jayne x[/p][p][br][/p]
