My story

[p]My first born son Joseph was a happy, loving, and kind hearted little boy. He loved his family and would often snuggle into one of our arms as we watched tv. He loved Alex the lion from Madagascar and we would often hear him roaring as he imitated his cartoon hero. Joseph (or Jo-Jo as he was affectionately known to us) died just over a month after his 3rd birthday. He died suddenly from Sepsis after having tonsillitis in 2008 and his doctor was found to be grossly negligent at the Coroner's inquest. [/p][p]My wife, Nicky, and I ran the Brighton Marathon on behalf of Child Bereavement UK 7 years ago in memory of Joseph. Jo-Jo would be turning 15 this year and in memory of him, I've decided to take on the Alpine Challenge on behalf of Child Bereavement UK again, for what would be his 15th birthday on 2 December 2019. [/p][p]This event is a unique challenge hiking 3 peaks in 3 countries (France, Italy and Switzerland) in 3 days reaching altitudes over twice as high as Ben Nevis - symbolic of 3 wonderful years that he was with us. [/p][p]Over the 3 days we will aim to summit a different peak, Testa Della Tronche in Italy (2,581m), Bel Oiseau in Switzerland (2628m) and Aiguilette de Posettes in France (2,201m). The event starts on the 30th October.[/p][p]Join me by supporting me as I raise much needed funds for this great charity in memory of my boy! Any contribution will make a difference in helping other children and families who are bereaved of a precious loved one.[/p]
