My story
[p]A marathon has always been on my bucket list and something I wanted to try and do. So this year I took the plunge and applied via the ballot and for a charity place. Little did my Dad know, there was no way I was doing this without him... so I made him apply too! We were BOTH lucky enough to secure a place to run the London Marathon 2019 for Headway – The Brain injury association. http://www.headway.org.uk/ [/p][p]This charity has been a support system for my family in particular for my Grampy Tony since he was involved in a lorry accident in 1982. He was only 25 when this happened with two young children, my Dad and Uncle Tom. As a result of the accident, Grampy Tony had some life changing injuries and Headway have been, and continue to be a support system, helping to improve the lives of survivors of acquired brain injuries, their partners, families, friends and carers. [/p][p]Our pledge is to raise £1850 each for Headway and the 26.2 miles will totally be worth it if we can reach our target to help this charity. I am so excited to be able to take on this challenge with my Dad by my side. If you can help us by donating anything you can we would really appreciate it. Keep an eye on our Virgin Money giving page and my Strava profile to follow our marathon journey!
