[p]Welcome to my fundraising page – I’m Jen – so 2019 saw me complete my first ever Marathon and what better way than to kick it off in London. With the help of such generous donations and support from many I reached my target before I reached the start line in London which was truly amazing. [/p][p]For me London was always going to be more than just a marathon, it was the countless miles in the run up to it, it was the ability to see something through to the very end, it was training the mind not to give up before the body and it was the ability to give something back. London 2019 was more than I could have ever imagined from the supportive crowds came out in force to cheer your name and help push you on when you felt like walking or crying to the incredible volunteers that helped make the day run so smoothly. But above all it was being part of a whole movement of people, most of who were running for a cause bigger than themselves. Some would say a ‘Celebration of humanity’. It was at that point and moments since that I really have realised more than ever that as human beings we all have a want to give back and support others – it’s what drives us, allows us to feel good and encourages us to keep going when times are tough. [/p][p]So why do I choose to run? I run for all those that are unable to……every time my feet hit the pavement and another step is taken I’m reminded how lucky I am to be able to get up and run, I’m reminded how fortunate I am to have the life I have, I am reminded how every day is a blessing and no matter how tough life can be there is someone that is fighting a bigger battle than yourself. Gratefulness is generally why I run and to be able to run for a charity that I am so passionate about is just a bonus.[/p][p]Make- A- Wish is a charity that I have always been very passionate about and I’m very proud to be part of the ‘Wish Hero’ community, the teams dedication and efforts to provide children with hope, laughter and for some children a short period of normality is not only over whelming but incredibly admirable. Running for Make-A-Wish for me allows me to spread awareness and to help keep that fire lit in each child with a wish that seems to diminish in us as adults. Wishes, Hopes and Dreams are in every single one of us and I know that by putting my body under stress for a short period of time can allow wishes to be granted to those who are more than deserving of them. [/p][p]So for my fundraising this time round I needed to do something to push myself further, to really step out of the comfort zone and to try and inspire others. Therefore December 2019 will see me complete a 50k run (in one go)……which is 5 miles further than a marathon! April 2020 I will complete Paris and London Marathon within 3 weeks of each other. My aim is to smash the target I have set and 2020 see me reach new heights in my own personal fitness but also giving back to those in need on a much bigger scale. [/p][p]A lifetime of memories can be created from a single wish granted……so be part of something special by making a donation.[/p][p]Thank you for reading and a HUGE Thank you for supporting. [/p][p]Jen [/p]
